Coyne Textile Services has taken a leadership role in the industry when it comes to protecting the environment. Coyne worked closely with the Uniform and Textile Service Association (UTSA) and the Textile Rental Services Association (TRSA) to create LaundryESP -- a voluntary Environmental Stewardship Program designed to reduce waste, save our natural resources, and prevent pollution. LaundryESP includes the removal of pollutants before they enter the laundry facility, as well as quantifiable goals for reductions in water, energy, and washroom chemical usage. The two trade associations and member companies, including Coyne, work closely with EPA, local water treatment authorities, customers, trade groups, environmental groups, and other stakeholders to ensure its success. After just 6 years, the results are remarkable:
- 40 % REDUCTION - POLLUTANTS DISCHARGED
- 12.6 % REDUCTION - WATER USAGE
- 11 % REDUCTION - ENERGY USAGE
- SIGNIFICANT SUBSTITUTIONS OF ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY WASH CHEMICALS
Coyne Textile Services was instrumental in developing the original program and participating in the intial meetings with the EPA. Coyne's amazing results show that it has clearly earned the right to use its present marketing slogan, "Protecting the environment for all of us™."
